Bill Analysis

SB 1854 would direct each campus level committee, at least once every school year, to evaluate the paper work that is required from teachers and determine how to efficiently transfer these paperwork and reporting duties to non-instructional staff.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill would make schools and board of trustees of school districts more thoughtful of teachers whose administrative duties may be getting in the way of actual teaching. Allowing teachers to focus their time on classroom teaching will benefit limited government as it relates to the state's duty to maintain an efficient and effective system of public education. For this reason, we support this bill.
