Bill Analysis

SB 1842 would allow a Class A utility to apply to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for an amendment of a municipal utility district's certificate of convenience and necessity that would allow the utility to have the same rights and powers under the certificate as the MUD. Criteria for the application and other related procedures regarding review and approval would be established.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Given the procedural nature of this bill, SB 1842 does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
