Bill Caption
Relating to the student loan default prevention and financial aid literacy pilot program.
Fiscal Notes
From the LBB: no significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB 1799 would update the pilot program established at certain universities to ensure students are informed on all aspects of student financial aid. This program would no longer apply to career schools and colleges, and minority-serving institutions would be given preference to participate in the program. Finally, the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation would administer the program.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This is a procedural bill regarding the student loan default prevention and financial aid literacy pilot program and does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
