Bill Caption

Relating to the amount of compensation and allowances of a county auditor in certain counties.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, the commissioners courts of bracketed counties are permitted to set compensation and allowances for a county auditor that exceeds limitations established in state code. SB 1780 would add to this list of exceptions a county with a population of more than 11,000 and less than 11,650.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Particularly given that this bill is bracketed to apply only to Live Oak County, SB 1780 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
