Bill Caption

Relating to food allergen awareness in food service establishments.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

This bill would require a food service establishment to display a poster (or other medium) of information relating to food allergen awareness in an area primarily accessible to employees.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill violates our limited government principle because it is not the proper role of government to mandate how a restaurant trains their employees or displays information on food allergens; it is the responsibility of each restaurant to decide how to train employees and display information in their restaurant. For this reason, we oppose this bill.
