Bill Caption

Relating to the veterans county service office.

Fiscal Notes

From the LBB: no fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, in a county with a population of 200,000 or more, the commissioners court must maintain a veterans county service office and maintain one full time employee. SB 1676 would require the service office to report directly to the commissioners court.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Veterans county service office requirements do not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
