Bill Caption
Relating to a reduction in required days of service for educators in public schools under certain circumstances.
Bill Analysis
Under this bill, if enacted, school districts may reduce the number of days a ten month contracted teacher may work if, it is anticipated that this teacher will work less than 180 days on the academic calendar.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This will help local school districts manage their own districts, with less state imposed burdens. For this reason, we support this bill however we do recommend that the provision stating the district may not reduce a salary based on fewer hours be removed.
