Bill Caption
Relating to local health care provider participation programs in certain counties and municipalities.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
Under current law, several chapters of the Health and Safety code are bracketed that outline procedures for certain counties to impose mandatory local participation payments for private healthcare institutions and the allocation of revenue from those payments. SB 1462 would update many of these provisions to specifically allow such counties to use local provider participation funds to provide payments to Medicaid managed care organizations and to refund unused portions of payments.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Particularly given its procedural nature, SB 1462 does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
