Relating to the issuance of specialty license plates to honor recipients of the Commendation Medal, Commendation Medal with Valor, and Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.

Bill Analysis

Senate Bill 1371 would amend Transportation Code by adding a section that would allow the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles to issue specialty license plates for recipients of the Commendation Medal with Valor and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for each branch of the military and for joint service.

A fee is required for those individuals applying for the specialty license plates.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Specialty license plates do not affect any of our principles, as such we remain neutral on Senate Bill 1371.
