Bill Analysis
Under current law, there are various procedures for suits involving divorce and property. SB 1237 would increase legal protections for parties during the transference of property in a divorce proceeding and increase protection for a child in a suit affecting a parent-child relationship. It would also modify when a court may impose orders on a party.
Vote Recommendation Notes
SB 1237 is a mostly procedural bill that modifies the existing procedures relating to divorce proceedings and on the whole neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles. For this reason, we are neutral.
