Fiscal Notes
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB 1229 is a bracketed bill for a county with a population of over 1.5 million and at least 75 percent of the population resides in a single municipality that enables a county to provide for solid waste collection, handling, storage, and disposal in the county’s extraterritorial jurisdictions through a competitive bidding process. The county would be authorized to contract with a municipality to provide management to extraterritorial jurisdictions and exemptions would be available in certain circumstances.
Vote Recommendation Notes
SB 1229 is a local bill that would allow certain county commissioners courts to provide for solid waste management in an area of the county within an extraterritorial jurisdiction. Because this is a local bill, we remain neutral.
