Bill Caption
Relating to accounting principles applicable to pension and other postemployment benefit expenses for electric utilities.
Fiscal Notes
From the LBB: no significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB 1002 would amend the Utilities Code to designate the annual amount of pension and other postemployment benefits approved as an expense, rather than an operating expense, when calculating values in the reserve account of an electric utility.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill updates accounting principles for electric utilities and does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
