Bill Analysis
Given the importance of the Gulf of Mexico red snapper fishery and the federal government's poor and outdated management, HCR 105 would encourage Congress to pass legislation or adopt policies
allowing Texas to manage the Gulf of Mexico red snapper fishery out
to 200 nautical miles.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill supports the principle of limited government by requesting that the federal government relinquish control of the Gulf of Mexico red snapper fishery for improved management at the state level. For this reason, we support HCR 105.
