Relating to authorization by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for certain public junior colleges to offer early childhood education baccalaureate degree programs.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. 

Bill Analysis

This bill would allow public junior colleges that are located in a county with a population of 2.2 million or more and adjacent to a county with a population of more than 600,000 to implement a degree program for early childhood education.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill is local in nature and pertains to what degree programs a public junior college may offer. This is within the legitimate role of the state to determine but does not affect our liberty principles and we remain neutral.
