Bill Caption
Relating to the extension and modification of a public school
district depository contract.
Bill Analysis
The law currently allows a school district to extend a contract with its depository bank for two additional two-year terms. This legislation would increase that allowance to three additional two-year terms and stipulate that the contract may be modified for any of the extensions.
Vote Recommendation Notes
While the provisions of HB 878 would extend some extra flexibility to school districts with respect to their depository bank contracts, this bill does not have a connection to any of our liberty principles. We remain neutral.
