Fiscal Notes

Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for HB852, Committee Report 1st House, Substituted: a negative impact of ($528,408) through the biennium ending August 31, 2019. The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, non-profit organizations may apply for a charter to provide adult education for only up to 150 people. Specifically this bill deals with the adult high school diploma and industry certification charter school pilot program and would take away the cap on how many people the charter school can teach.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill gives more adults an opportunity to receive a quality education at the affected charter school. We support HB 852.
