Bill Analysis

HB 523 would require a school district with an open enrollment of 10,000 students or more to make a video and recording available online of an open meeting that is a work session or special called meeting where the board of trustees votes on any matter or allows public testimony.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill enhances our limited government principle by increasing transparency of certain school board meetings giving citizens multiple avenues to stay informed on what happened at the meeting. We support HB 523.
