Bill Caption

Relating to expansion of the territory of the Frio Hospital District and to the election of the board of directors of the district.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, the Frio Hospital District serves most of Frio County. HB 4279 would authorize the residents of the area of Frio County not served by the Frio Hospital District to petition for the expansion of the district’s jurisdiction. If the petition receives more than 50 signatures, a hearing would be held, an annexation order issued, an election would be conducted, and the district board would be recomposed as soon as practicable.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 4279 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
