Bill Analysis
HB 4264 would repeal Section 41.006, Property Code, which considers it a deceptive trade practice to sell a homestead at below appraised fair market value and then lease it back to the seller.
Vote Recommendation Notes
By repealing regulation which restricts certain sales of homesteads, HB 4264 upholds our principles of limited government, property rights, personal responsibility, and free markets. For these reasons, we support this legislation.
