Bill Caption

Relating to the electronic transmission of certain notice required for air quality permits.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is required to provide notice regarding the renewal of air quality permits. HB 4181 would allow the TCEQ to send these notices through an electronic system that is equally reliable in ensuring receipt of notice.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 4181 supports the principle of limited government by decreasing the costs and delays related to sending notices required by the Clean Air Act. For this reason, we support HB 4181.
