Under current law, a building known as the French Embassy is in the charge of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and in the custody of the Texas Facilities Commission. HB 3810 would transfer the building, funding, and related assets to the Texas Historical Commission, rename the building as the “French Legation,” and require the commission to restore, preserve, and maintain the property.
This bill would add the Sam Rayburn House State Historic Site, the National Museum of the Pacific War, and the Mission Dolores State Historic Site to the Texas Historical Commission's jurisdiction.
