Bill Analysis

This bill would modify the portion of the code related to the court reporter’s record. If passed, a hearing held by an associate judge must have a court reporter provided or the proceedings must be recorded with a good quality electronic audio recording device. A court reporter would be required to be provided when an associate judge presides over a jury trial, or a child custody and parental termination matters.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill does not have a measurable impact on our liberty principles, and we will remain neutral.
