Bill Analysis
Under current law, the Texas Water Development Board is authorized to use the floodplain management account to assist political subdivisions endeavoring to qualify for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program. HB 3746 would also authorize the board to use the fund to study and create programs to educate the public regarding flood-related information as well as perform other activities related to flood planning, protection, mitigation, and adaptation.
