Bill Caption
Relating to the eligibility of certain municipalities to establish homestead preservation districts and reinvestment zones.
Fiscal Notes
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
HB 3691 would revise the bracketing provisions in existing code to make certain municipalities eligible to establish homestead preservation districts and reinvestment zones.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Due to the limited and localized nature of this bill, we remain neutral. We recommend that rather than tinker around the edges of property tax policy by continuing the practice of allowing exemptions for preferred classes of people, the state enact wholesale property tax reform to the equal benefit of all taxpayers.
