Bill Caption
Relating to the eligibility of the children of certain first
responders for free prekindergarten programs in public schools.
Bill Analysis
This bill would allow the children of different types of first responders to be eligible for free enrollment into prekindergarten.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Taxpayer subsidized prekindergarten programs increase the size, scope, and cost of government. This legislation would allow a special preferred class of citizens to have prekindergarten costs subsidized by taxpayers who themselves are paying full freight for their own children to attend daycare and prekindergarten programs. For offending the principles of limited government and personal responsibility, we oppose HB 357.
