Bill Analysis

This bill would allow for the collection and release of medical information on the Zika virus and other high consequence communicable diseases to an appropriate federal agency that requests the information, including the name, address, sex, race, and occupation of the individual, the date of the onset of the condition, the probable source of infection or exposure, and other requested information.

Vote Recommendation Notes

The state has a legitimate interest in managing and curbing the potential outbreak of serious disease. This bill does not appear to have any impact on our liberty principles and we have no objections to its passage.
