Bill Analysis

This bill would establish a legislative oversight committee for long-term care facilities and would change some inspection procedures regarding long-term care facilities. These changes include that if a commission employee inspecting a facility is a health care professional licensed in this state, the officer or employee of the facility may require the commission employee to provide proof of licensure before conducting the inspection, a provision prohibiting an inspector from conducting an additional inspection during an exit conference, and a provision stating that a facility is not required to correct a violation that conflicts with the written orders of a physician.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This is a procedural bill which does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
