Bill Caption
Relating to the comptroller's investment of certain money held outside the state treasury.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
HB 3529 would require the comptroller to comply with certain authorized investment standards for investments of state money held outside the state treasury. The comptroller would also be required to adjust the investment portfolio periodically to ensure sufficient liquidity of the account or fund. This does not apply to money held trust accounts outside the state treasury where the comptroller is an acting trustee.
Vote Recommendation Notes
HB 3529 does not appear to have a connection with our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral. However, the practice of following compliance standards is preferable and responsible.
