Bill Caption
Relating to the regulation of game rooms in certain counties.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
Under current law, certain regulations on game rooms apply only to bracketed counties. HB 3453 is a bracketed bill that would also apply these regulations to Harrison, Smith, and Tarrant county as well as a county that is located in the Permian Basin within 25 miles of this state’s border with another state of the United States and has a population of more than 130,000.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Given the local nature of this bill, HB 3453 does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral. However, in general we believe it is wiser to either apply regulations equally across the state or remove them altogether.
