Bill Caption

Relating to forms of notice that may be provided by the Department of Public Safety during certain enforcement proceedings and actions.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

The bill would amend the Texas Transportation Code to allow for the electronic notification of suspension, revocation, or other enforcement notifications concerning a Driver License, if a customer requests to receive notification via e-mail. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill expands personal responsibility by allowing those with notices of fees on their drivers license to receive notice via email, thereby allowing people better and more access toward solutions. For this reason, we support this bill.
