Bill Analysis
This bill would create an accelerated educator training program to train experts in vocational teaching. The bill would make a person meeting certain requirements related to education and experience eligible
for admission to the program. At the end of this program, one would be given a license to train others in the program and certified to teach the relevant class.
HB 3349 requires the Board of Education, for the purpose of providing a continuing additional source of
teachers, to provide workforce training, to establish a probationary trade and industrial workforce
training certificate and a standard trade and industrial workforce training certificate that may be
obtained through an abbreviated educator preparation program.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill would expedite the process of obtaining a teaching certificate for industry certified individuals by creating a program by which experts in an industrial field can go through, in order to receive a vocational training license to teach in classrooms. HB 3349 would limit government by giving these qualified people an opportunity to teach with fewer regulatory prerequisites to meet.
