Bill Caption

Relating to the eligibility of certain persons to teach a driver education course.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, parents and other specifically listed family members may conduct a driver safety education course for a person who is required to take such a course to obtain a Class C drivers license. HB 3337 would allow a parent with a disability to designate another person 25 years or older to administer a drivers education course in their place.

Vote Recommendation Notes

By allowing parents with disabilities to easily designate someone else to conduct a driver safety education course for their child, this bill supports personal responsibility and individual liberty. For these reasons, we support HB 3337.
