Relating to the penalty imposed on certain delinquent oil and gas severance taxes.
Bill Analysis
Under current law, penalties are imposed for delinquent gas production taxes and delinquent oil production taxes. HB 3232 would clarify that these penalties do not apply if an appropriate amended report is filed, if taxes are paid in full in the original report, an amended report indicates less than a quarter of the originally reported taxes are due, or an amended report is filed within 2 years that remits the full amount of the additional tax due.
