Bill Analysis
Under current law, a political subdivision that employs fire fighters, police officers, or both is required to provide those employees with compensation and other conditions of employment that are substantially equal to compensation and other conditions of employment that prevail in comparable employment in the private sector.
HB 3193 would require compensation and other conditions of employment that are substantially equal to compensation and other conditions of employment that prevail in comparable fire or police departments.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This is a procedural bill regarding compensation of fire fighters and police officers and does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
