Bill Caption

Relating to a revocable deed that transfers real property at the transferor's death.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 3121 would make procedural changes to the lapse of the share of a designated beneficiary who predeceases the testator. The optional form for transfer on death deed would be updated to further detail the procedures if one surviving beneficiary exists, no surviving primary beneficiary exists, and no surviving alternate beneficiary exists after the death of the transferor.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill would support property rights both for the transferor and beneficiaries involved. We support HB 3121.
