Bill Analysis
HB 3107 would make a series of changes to public information law with three notable changes. First, a request for information is considered to have been withdrawn if the requestor fails to inspect or duplicate the information in the offices of the governmental body on or before the 60th day after the date the information is made available or fails to pay the postage and any other applicable charges accrued with 60 days. Next, all requests received in one calendar day from an individual may be treated as a single request for purposes of calculating costs. Finally, a complainant may file a complaint with the attorney general after 90 days of filing a complaint with the district or county attorney.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This is a procedural bill regarding public information that does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
