Bill Analysis

This bill would allow a nonparent relative of a child in an authorization agreement with a parent to obtain copies of state-issued personal identification documents for the child and copies of federally issued identification documents such as the child’s social security care to the extent allowed under federal law. The bill would also require that a copy of the authorization agreement be mailed to a parent not party to the agreement not later than 10 days after the agreement is signed.
