Bill Analysis

This bill expands reporting duties of the office of the inspector general in detecting and reporting fraud in Medicaid and other entitlement programs. Among other reporting requirements, the inspector general would now have to report on all inspections made pertaining to detecting waste, fraud, and abuse in these programs. The bill would also add procedures and conditions for notifying on discovery of fraud or abuse recovering payments in those cases.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill largely deals with procedural updates to existing investigating and reporting requirements and does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
