Bill Analysis

HB 2858 would require abortion facilities to display sign with information related to forced abortions, forced sexual acts, and human trafficking. Next, a human trafficking offense that results in the death of an unborn child of the person trafficked would be made a first-degree felony. An assault that causes bodily harm to a pregnant person to force that person to have an abortion would be made a third-degree felony. Finally, offenses of threatening or physical contact against a pregnant person to force the person to have an abortion would be made a Class A misdemeanor.
