Bill Caption
Relating to consultations with contracted physician networks and physician systems during certain investigations of child abuse and neglect.
Fiscal Notes
From the LBB: No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This Act takes effect only if a specific appropriation for implementation is provided in a general
appropriations act of the 85th Legislature.
Bill Analysis
This bill would create new requirements for physician systems and networks in an agreement to assist in investigations of child abuse and neglect including having the ability to have consultation with physicians who specialize in recognizing various diseases and deficiencies in children. The bill would also require physician systems and networks that assist in investigations to use a peer review system to resolve cases in which physicians disagree about a child's injuries or whether a condition or deficiency is present in a child.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
