Bill Analysis

This is a local bill. HB 2825 would allow certain commissioners courts to dissolve a levee improvement district at any time if the court finds that certain negative conditions exist. A public hearing will be held, and then the commissioners will vote on its dissolution. Provisions regarding dissolution of the district would be instituted. Bracketing conditions would be established for the application of this bill.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports this bill. Provisions to dissolve inefficient and ineffective districts upholds our principle of limited government. Not only does it streamline local governments, it eliminates unneeded costs to the taxpayers. Because of this, we support this legislation.
