Bill Caption

Relating to the elimination of a fee collected for an on-site wastewater treatment permit application.

Fiscal Notes

An impact of $0 through the biennium ending August 31, 2019.

The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and local governments are required to collect a $10 fee for each on-site wastewater treatment permit application that is processed. HB 2771 would eliminate this processing fee.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill upholds the principle of limited government by eliminating the state fee on permit applications for on-site wastewater treatment. For this reason, we support HB 2771.
