Bill Analysis
This bill would enact the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact to facilitate interstate practice of physical therapy to improve access to physical therapists and their services. The compact would provide for the mutual recognition of other member state licenses and the exchange of investigative and disciplinary actions against license holders in member states. The bill would require that applicants for a license have their criminal history checked.

Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill would allow for the interstate practice of physical therapy which would further our free market and limited government principles since it would allow therapists to enter into and practice in any market in any member state. This could lead to increased access to physical therapy services and could also make those services cheaper as they become more widely available. For this reason, we support this bill. Though we do recommend that the provision related to criminal history records be removed.
