Bill Analysis
This bill would require the executive commissioner of Health and Human Services to adopt minimum standards to apply to day-care centers, group day-care homes, and registered family homes, consistent with the nutritional and meal standards in the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the American Academy of Pediatrics standards for physical activity and screen time.
The bill would also require the executive commissioner to require the facilities to provide to parents/guardians of children enrolled at the facility information on sample healthy meals, food allergies, and choking hazards. Lastly, the bill would require the annual training of employees and directors of these facilities to include. child nutrition and age appropriate indoor and outdoor activities.
