Bill Analysis

HB 2649 would amend the Education Code to require the governing body of a charter holder and open-enrollment charter to hold each open meeting in the county in which the charter school is located or broadcast the open meeting over the internet and make an archive available.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill enhances our limited government principle by increasing the transparency of the governing body of an open-enrollment charter. We support HB 2649.
