Bill Caption
Relating to broker agreements for the sale of real property by school districts.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
Under current law, a school district is authorized to sell any property (other than minerals) with the assistance of a real estate broker. HB 2611 would require sale through a broker to include listing the property on a multiple-listing service for at least 30 days before finalizing a sale agreement with the highest bidding cash offer. These sales would also be exempted from provisions related to notice of property sale by a political subdivision.
Vote Recommendation Notes
HB 2611 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
