Bill Analysis
This bill would put the authority to assess administrative penalties against providers participating in certain Medicaid waiver programs with the Health and Human Services Commission rather than the Department of State Health Services. The commission would be allowed to assess administrative penalties after notifying and providing a reasonable amount of time to a provider to correct the violation for certain violations. The bill also would create an informal dispute resolution process for providers.
