Bill Analysis

Under current law, certain criteria must be met in order for an environmental permit application to be considered administratively complete. HB 2497 would require that, once an application qualifies as administratively complete, the applicant place a sign at the site of the facility providing notice that an application has been filed and contact information for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill adds new regulations to environmental permit applicants, increasing the scope of government regulation. We oppose HB 2497.
