Bill Analysis

The bill is a local bill bracketed to counties adjacent to Harris County. The bill would allow affected counties to maintain the safe movement of traffic on county freeways and allow a designated peace officer to direct the removal of vehicles on a freeway impeding the safe movement of traffic. The purpose of the bill is to help get traffic accidents, stalled vehicles, etc. quickly cleared from roadways in order to minimize traffic congestion.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This legislation supports limited government by giving the affected counties greater flexibility in managing their roadways. We support HB 2482.
