Bill Analysis

This bill would prohibit an officer or employee of a political subdivision from spending public funds to make a political contribution or expenditure or directly or indirectly employ a person to spend public funds on a political contribution or expenditure. Violation of this would be a class A misdemeanor. 

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill is in keeping with our limited government principles since it would prevent government officials from committing ethical violations by using public funds for political contributions. For this reason, we support this bill.
